2.4 Email Alerts

Learn how to set up Email Alerts from the Acuity Pricing platform.

Email Alerts allow users to be quickly informed of price and promotional movement, as well as when products are listed or delisted.

Email Alerts

Users can utilise this tool in the platform tool to:

  • Identify when competitors have changed base prices.
  • Be alerted the day products are listed in the market.
  • Stay informed about new promotions.

Selecting your Alerts data 

Choosing the criteria for the Alert should be done in the same manner as any other Acuity Pricing report, including the selection of filtering options.

Multiple Alerts can be set up for different categories and retailers, or you can set up one Alert including multiple categories and retailers.

Once the criteria has been set, select the options available for the type of Alerts to receive. Additionally, select the preferred options for scheduling, notifications and sending.

Click 'Send Test' to send the account holder an email with an example Alert.
If this Alert is correct, click 'Save' in the top of the navigation menu. 

What triggers the Alert?

Alert settings are customisable within Alert options. For example, the Alert can be set to notify the user of price or promotional changes and changes over a given percentage (%) or price (£) amount.

Alert Options

Description

New listings

Alerts the user when new products are available within the selected retailer(s).

De-listings

Alerts the user when products are no longer available within the selected retailer(s).

Promotions started

Alerts the user when products are beginning a promotional offer. Users can also set this for specific promotional mechanics.

Promotions ended

Alerts the user when promotional offers have ended.

Price changes

Alerts the user when the price of a product has changed, either by a specified price point or percentage. Can be set to only show base price changes by selecting 'exclude promotionally driven price changes'.

Promotional strategies change

Alerts the user when a product’s promotional offer has changed within a specified retailer. This change can be a change of promotional mechanic or a change in deal value (e.g. buy 2 for £5 becomes buy 2
for £4).

Changes in stock status

Alerts the user to product stock status changes.

Send Alert even when no changes occur

Useful when the user wants to be made aware that no price or promotional changes have occurred in the category. This can help enforce promotional compliance.

Include commentary

Shows the user any additional information that comes with their set alert (e.g If there has been a price movement for one product, the commentary would detail which product this includes and in which retailer).

 

 

When are Alerts sent? 

Alerts can be customised to the user’s preference under 'Delivery Options'.

Daily – The alert will be sent daily.
Weekly – The alert will be sent weekly on the specified day.
Monthly – The alert will be sent monthly on the first of every month.

The hyperlinks at the bottom of the Alert messages link directly to the product dashboard within Acuity Pricing. To view the dashboard the user must be logged in.

Alerts – Hints and Tips

Within the tool:

  • Tick ‘Send Alert even when no changes occur’ to be made aware that no price or promotional changes have occurred in the category over your specified time period. 
  • Tick ‘Exclude promotional driven price changes’ so that only base price changes are seen in the price change section. 
  • Use the 'Mechanics' filter to select key promotions to track. 
  • Once the Alert has been shared, you can select ‘Only send to sharing recipients (Don’t send to me)’ so that only the users the Alert has been shared with receive it, if the user is setting up the Alerts for others. 
  • Use the filtering options to select only product results from a specific manufacturer.

  • Filter by specific parent product names or EANs to see only those products within the Alert.

Within the Alert:

  • The Email Alerts will include promotional end dates where available on the website. 

  • Alerts using different clusters for the same source can be differentiated by adding different images or adding short names. These can be set by any admin user under the cluster settings from within the account.

  • If you have a contextual retailer set on your account, any items that change in price will be compared with the price within your chosen contextual retailer.
